Breaded Deep-Fried Bananas and Rosé Wine

The late afternoon light has taken on a rose-colored hue, and the shafts of light that break through the slatted screens, painted atop the kitchen counter, are serene and peaceful, just like you. On this counter close to hand, sunk in a sea of sand-colored breadcrumbs, are evenly sliced perfectly ripe caramel-tinted bananas. You grab one from the pile, lay it in the oil, wait for the bubble, prepare for the fizz, and when the heat is just right, you add another, then another, then another. The plate you take to the kitchen table is golden brown, the L’Astemia Pentita rosé in your hand a pretty pink. You place both on the table and before your favourite dinner date arrives, ready to share their day, you check in one last time on the sleeping boy, small and perfect, wrapped in a blanket of the most brilliant blue. You take this moment to breathe in the day and appreciate the peace. So many colours make up your world, but only together do they amount to pure bliss.  

The door opens. The Table is set. Finally, it is time to eat.
