Surprisingly fresh and mineral, yet rich.
As a Vigneron Indépendant of grower champagne, Philippe Dechelle outsource nothing. Only the first pressing (cuvée) is used, meaning 4,000kg of grapes produces only 106 cases of champagne.
Visual: Old gold. Fine bubbles. Luminous, fluid aspect.
Nose: Limestone, acacia flower, white peach, lemon, pear. Flavor: Supple, fresh attack with a bewitched effervescence. Limestone minerality confers good tension, elegance, a creamy tactile sensation, and length. A balanced symphony, both vibrant and mineral-rich, bright and lively through the finish.
A mild winter with low rainfall was followed by a relatively cool, damp spring. A warm, dry summer counteracted these conditions, allowing good ripening. A fine picking season ensured high quality grapes, with good sugar levels and acidity. Wines of this vintage are complex and well-balanced.
