Full-bodied and powerful.
As a Vigneron Indépendant of grower champagne, Philippe Dechelle outsource nothing. Only the first pressing (cuvée) is used, meaning 4,000kg of grapes produces only 106 cases of champagne.
Visual: Light straw, fine bubbles, bright, luminous.
Nose: Plum, wild raspberries, biscuit, sweet almond, honey, roasted pineapple, fig. Flavor: Rich, fresh attack, creamy and effervescent. Crunchy fruitiness underlined by fleshy-fruit acidity. Excellent minerality gives fruit, volume, and length, expressing concentration and a juicy finish—like biting into fresh grapes.
A mild winter with low rainfall was followed by a relatively
cool, damp spring. A warm, dry summer counteracted these conditions, allowing good ripening. A fine picking season ensured high quality grapes, with good sugar levels and acidity. Wines of this vintage are complex and well balanced.
