About this product

The 2017 estate Riesling Icewine represents a classic take on this noble variety. On the nose, there are pronounced aromas of candied lemon, poached pear, honeysuckle, yuzu, grilled pineapple, and mandarin orange. Bright citrus adds a wonderful sense of freshness to the tasting experience, as exotic fruit replays throughout the palate. Finishes with complex flavors of fuji apple, tarte tatin, marzipan, preserved peach, mango, and wildflower honey.

Fermentation
Stainless steel at 15°C (57°F) for approximately 10 weeks
Pairings
As balanced as an Olympic gymnast, this wine is perfect as an aperitif, main course wine, or digestif. It can be enjoyed with strong cheeses or desserts less sweet than the icewine, featuring citrus fruit, like key lime pie. Paired with pâté, foie gras, Korean fried chicken, or pork belly, it will create one of the most exciting pairings of your life.
The Vintage
The 2017 vintage showcased a wide-ranging summer; a healthy mix of rain and sun was followed by an extended heatwave into the fall, allowing time for grapes to fully ripen their aromatic qualities. Harvest dates followed a classic timeline, and the cooler nights of the summer helped enhance the aromatic quality of white varietals. Night harvest by hand was a touch early this vintage with −9°C (15°F) on December 21st.
