Small batch and bottled non-chill filtered, Maharani explodes on your nose and palate with the vibrancy of pomelo, the warmth of cassia bark, the punch of whole nutmeg, and the alluring complexity of mace. Generous notes of juniper, coriander, rosemary, black pepper, star anise, and cardamon add additional layers of flavor to the full, creamy texture. Note the fine, dancing ribbons of essential oils when adding ice.
The early ‘90s brought about experimental vineyards like this one, using clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cut from Champagne. From this, the Alta Langa denomination was born, with the aim of enhancing Piedmont sparkling wines. Visual: Straw yellow, with fine and persistent perlage. Select Late Harvest production in Canada refers to the second pressing of our estate icewine grapes. After the first pressing, the ice begins to melt, resulting in a lighter bodied wine, while maintaining a similar flavor profile to the icewine. This wine has a light straw color in the glass, and moderate viscosity. The nose shows notes of mango, peaches in syrup, and pineapple. The palate is medium sweet, not cloying, and with flavors of ripe pear, golden delicious apple, peach, and pineapple, finishing clean, and with refreshing acidity.
